I’m running for Reuben’s Retreat.

Please support me.

On Sunday May 10th I will be running the Manchester 10K on behalf of Reuben’s Retreat, a charity that was born in memory of Reuben Michael Graham, who tragically passed away aged 23 months. The goal is to provide a retreat in the North West of England countryside that will relieve the distress of families and their close friends who have suffered the bereavement of a child, or who have a child suffering from a life limiting or life threatening illness.

If you would like to support me in my fundraising efforts you can do so simply by clicking Support me

Every donation will be greatly appreciated and if you would like to know more about this worthwhile charity then you can read about Reuben’s Retreat here: www.reubensretreat.org

Workplace Pensions and Automatic Enrolment

How Lancashire Accountants Stockport can help.

The Law now says that every employer (even if they employ only one person) has to provide a workplace pension.

It’s called Automatic Enrolment because it’s automatic for the workforce and they don’t have to do anything to be enrolled into the company’s workplace pension scheme.

But it’s not automatic for the employer!

The new law says you have to take certain steps to ensure they’re enrolled and you have a set date by which you have to comply with it. It’s called your Staging Date.

In order to ensure that you comply within the timeframe you need an Action Plan so that you:

1. Assess your workforce to see who’s eligible.

2. Choose a pension scheme

3. Inform your staff so that they understand what you are providing

4. Put your plan into action

Don’t worry Lancashire Accountants can help you.

It may all sound rather daunting, but if you feel you require any assistance in setting up and implementing your Action Plan, or you need advice on your Staging Date, then please do not hesitate to contact me.

I provide a full range of accountancy services and also have an arrangement with a trusted and highly experienced Independent Financial Adviser and pensions specialist who is fully qualified to provide all the help you need to ensure you comply with the new law. Between us we can take virtually the entire burden off your shoulders.

The main thing is though … don’t delay. This is something that has to be done. And it has to be done sooner rather than later. You can’t put it off.

Just remember that at Lancashire Accountants I’m here to help you. So why not give me a call on 0161 494 1173 and let’s discuss it?

January 2015

I can’t believe that it’s five years

It only seems like yesterday that I was planning to set up my own accountancy business and after working in large accountancy practices for the previous ten years, I can tell you that I was pretty nervous about it all.

However, despite the nerves I was confident that my friendly, personal and professional approach would be successful because I had come to realize that so many of the clients I had worked with would much rather deal with a person than a company.

Almost as soon as I started Lancashire Accountants Ltd and people heard about my venture the phone began to ring and since then my business has steadily grown. Perhaps the best part of the growth is that it is nearly all as a result of recommendations and referrals. So I guess I must be doing something right.

I still offer a wide range of accountancy services including annual accounts, management accounts, book-keeping, company secretarial duties and tax returns etc. In addition and through a number of trusted, highly qualified associates I can also provide added value and financial services such as pensions, investments and financial planning.

So after five years of working as Lancashire Accountants Ltd in Stockport and with a smart new website, here’s to the next five!
